Yoga??

Lack of exercise lately ( or is it too much?), have been feeling aching here and there. It's time to get back on some yoga exercise...

Found these pictures in an old pile of email, some "yoga" post.

Pictures taken at Miwa's farewell party in July. Since then, I have been seeing her every other week sneaking back to Atlanta; AND she will be moving back to Atlanta in September!!! Define farewell party????

To row or not to row..... is it such a hard thing to decide?

It's really fun to row dragon boat... but not fun to coordinate a team! The race is in 2 weeks, but still uncertain of how many people or who will be on the boat! Can people just make up their mind! To row or not to row?? Decide now!!

Just had a few people "drop out" from the boat, need to find myself a few replacement. I need to start thinking about the strategy for the team too.... sigh sigh...

Feels like a star!

I don't care about fame. Yet, I feel like a star lately! kakkakakaka...

For no reason, I get on the newspaper a few times in a month!

First one posted on July 31. I went for dragon boat practice and happen to have a local newspaper reporter there taking pictures of another team. My dear roomie- Ah Jean is on the cover of the section too! She has been proudly showing it off!!!

The second one is taken during the Malaysian Gala. It's posted under the "Social Butterflies" report!

Forgot to publish this!

My second half-marathon this year! It's the ING Half Marathon! I improved my time by 15 minutes compared to the first one I run in January!!! As a result of that I registered for a FULL MARATHON next year!!!! AM I CRAZY OR WHAT????

This is at the starting point of the race at Atlanta downtown.

Struggling during the race...

Joy at finish line!

Catch ups!!

Sigh.... I have lazy hands.. what to do? Too much to catch up, dont' even know where to start.

So, what had happen since March... Quite a lot, some highlights:

- Performed the Malay dance at a few different occasions - at Savannah Asian Festival, Robins Air Force Base, Atlanta Asian Cultural Experience, etc.
- Business trip to Canada - on the way back I was "detained" by immigration officers!! APparently that's what they do if you travel with advance perole paper! Almost peed in my pant!
- Malaysian Gala on August 11, 2007. Dress as "Tangkachi" this year!Lots of press coverage this year

That's the time I took to finish my first ever Half Marathon-- 13.1 miles! It's the cheerful Mickey, Minnie, Donald and all other wonderful Disney characters that motivated me to complete the race! Despite the horrible cold, long drive to Orlando and only 3 hours of sleep, I am proud to say: I DID IT!!!

Thanks to my dear roomate - master Jean to keep kicking my butt to train for this!

The 7 dwarfs

The last time I wanted to post about the "the 7 dwarfs" my PC crashed on me. Now rewriting about them....

The 7 dwarfs is how I refer my 6 nephews and a niece in Malaysia- a.k.a the "sai sai jeks" - the little ones. Since I don't see them often enough, my impression of them had always been the tiny figures. The last trip I went back to Malaysia, I realize that the "sai sai jeks" are no longer as "sai" as I thought. They have all grown up quite a bit now. Cory the oldest is already 11 and Ethan the youngest is now 7. The rest of the 5 dwarfs are - the twins - Sean & Melisa, the future Malaysian Idol-Ian, the funny face-Arthur,the wise one- Scott. It's so interesting to see how each of them drown up to have very different personality and different interests. It's so much joy and fun watching the play together.

Okie... getting little home sick..

complains complains....

okie okie... some "friend" complains that I don't update my blog frequent enough... so I will try to update more from now on.... so NO MORE COMPLAINS!!!! ** you know who you are**

My mini adventure in Seoul

I would consider myself as quite an adventurous person. Love to explore new places alone, expecially at a foreigh land, without knowing a word of local language. Done it before in a number of places... France, Spain, Miami ( at Brazilian area) and to add on to my list - Korea! Korean poeple are super friendly and helpful, though we don't speak a common language, using sign language and pointing on the map is enough to get by! Even though they don't know how to tell you the direction, they take you there in person! Despite the additional 10-20 minutes detour! Love the place!!

Friend of 26 years...

The first friend I've ever known in my life - Ka Mei, a friend of 26 years just recently got married. I made a trip back to Malaysia to attend her wedding. Great to see her finally find a better half and happily married. And happy to catch up with many long lost friends during the wedding!

"Yuuuuuuummmm Siiinnnnggg!!"

Summer has passed, Fall is over and Winter is here

I had a super busy summer (as usual... more stuff to do under the sun). Let's recap:

2. Made a trip to Korea

3.Made my first Thanksgiving Turkey

4. Installed backsplash at the kitchen.... still have some touch up to do, looking quite good now!

5. First business trip to Canada

6. Run a 10k race in less than 61 mins

Now, the begining of winter...

1. Chirstmas ski trp @ Maggie Valley with buddies -- first time snowboarding, AWESOME!! Loving it! Will do it again soon!

Birthday fiesta!!!

Foods, friends and laughters for birthday, what else can I ask for??

More celebration after dinner @ karaoke...

Lazy butt...

Sorry for being a lazy butt. It's been almost 2 months since I last update my blog, but a lot had happen...

Birthday turned out to be quite a roller coaster ride....

Started from some lovely greeting at work in the morning....

a balloon waiting for me at my office...

attached with a $10 giftcard for Borders bookstore.... ;-)

Then, a nice lunch with people from work.... and a lovely greeting card

And then my lovely bithday made a 180 degree turn when I received an email from my lawyer-- my greencard case been closed by error. The rest of the afternoon was filled with worries and phone conferences with the lawyer and human resource, trying to find a way to reinstate my case and see if there's any other alternate way of keeping up my legal status. But there were reearch need to be done from both my part & lawyer part... need a few days to get things resolved....

So, determined not to let that ruin my big day, I went on for a dinner planned by my buddies-- let some food, drinks & laughters washed away the unpleasant event....

Great minds think alike...

Speaking of Mon... we live in different continent miles apart from each other, so we don't know too much about each other's day to day lives. One day we were talking about car, and found out that we both have been driving the same model car, with exactly same color! This is what I call great minds think alike...

My mini me...

Congrats Mon!

Just chatted with a looooooong time old friend - Monica. I've known her since we were 13. Time flies. Among all my high school buddies, she's the only one I know that earned a "Doctor" title! Very proud of her. ;-) She will be starting a new chapter in her life--> quit teaching lazy college kids and starting a new job!! Congrats Mon!! You go girl! I have strong confident in you that you will do well wherever you go!

Last picture I got from Mon on her big 30 birthday ;-)

Learning how to walk again...

I just recently picked up tennis. It's something that I always wanted to do, but never really seriously get into it. So to motivate myself, I joined a team and started competing in a league. It's tougher than I thought! I have no solid skill of basic tennis. Playing in a league is like learning how to jump before I even know how to walk well. As the result, I tasted defeat after defeat, bruised my confident. But hey, being me, I will keep it up. I am now learning how to walk again and still jumping in the league blindly. I will get better some day! Practice practice practice!!

Score card on 06.04.06 : 2-6; 3-6

Ah Jean's first home made "jung ji"

The wraping looks good...

Looks good inside too!!

With all sort of fillings- dried shrimps, mushroom, salted egg yolk, chesnut and pork.

It's yummy~~
